About Us

About the Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Manila

We are proud to serve as the official representative of the Embassy of Portugal to Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam. Our mission is to strengthen the ties between our two nations by promoting Portuguese culture, boosting tourism, and expanding trade relations.

The honorary consuls have duties in defending the rights and interests of the Portuguese State and its citizens. The honorary consuls are not authorised to practice consular acts; however, in certain extraordinary and substantiated circumstances, the honorary consuls are authorised to practice voter registration processes, civil registry and notary acts, and issue travel documents.

Message from the Honorary Consul

It is a distinct honor to welcome you to the Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Manila.

Just as seamless connectivity transforms the travel experience, our mission here is to ensure the bridge between the Philippines and Portugal remains robust, efficient, and accessible. Whether you are a Portuguese national requiring assistance or a Filipino citizen exploring opportunities in Europe, understanding the necessary steps—from documentation to cultural nuances—is essential for a smooth journey.

I am excited to continue to engage with the vibrant communities of both nations. Our shared history forms a solid foundation, but it is our future collaboration in trade, tourism, and cultural exchange that truly inspires. We are committed to aligning with the vision of modern diplomacy: fostering "soft diplomacy" through education, arts, and economic innovation.

Here’s to fostering more cooperation between Manila and Lisbon, and to ensuring that every interaction with this Consulate adds value to the enduring friendship between our two countries.
